Yeah uhh.. my husband has been working from home since covid started, and I always make sure to message/signal him with my hands to silently ask if he's muted; even if he usually is.
Same as asking if he was currently busy or was in a rush to get something done. It's just courtesy, especially to someone who's working. After this long, always assume the Mic is on in a work environment. You don't deserve the embarrassment, but...
