The whole idea of parties really does not appeal to me. Also, people are overrated. I would much rather stay alone in my room than go out and meet them.

There's your problem. You went to meet people. You have to party to have fun. The meeting people thing is automatic because people want to know the fun person not the weird one in the corner petting the cat

my sympathies OP. I don't even go to parties around here since most of the people where I live are assholes and I don't want to bother with them.
