New day, same shit

Today, was the day I would turn my life around and start losing weight. I went outside for my first run and said, "I got this!" I confidently stepped forward, the first symbolic steps to my new life. In the anticipation, I forgot my porch had steps. I face-planted on my driveway. FML

Today, I joined a gym. I’m overweight and not very athletic, so I was nervous. I looked around and tried a treadmill. I start walking at a chill pace, then got ambitious and cranked it to a "light jog." Within seconds, I tripped, fell, and sent the emergency stop button flying across the room. The gym staff ran over and I swear someone said, “Well, at least he’s trying.” FML

I would say give op a cookie for trying but that seems a bit counterproductive.

Its ok you actually tried, and next time you will go further.

Besides OP never said he/she was fat. Don't be that person.

gravity affects everyone, not just the heavier set people. besides, OP never said they were 'fat' for all you know they could be 20 pounds over weight.

A normal weight paired with a bad body image is more common than you think.

Hey I'm a fat people and I agree that gravity is my worst enemy. It's really hard on the knees!!

You do realize that gravity is constant, regardless of weight, right?

Also #56, you said you were a fat people, how many exactly?

Yes gravity is constant and if you're fat it puts a much heavier load on you. Trust me this shit is scientifical. Oh and I'm usually considered 2 people rolled into 1. 260lbs at 6ft and I can still run a 4.8 40 and play 7s rugby without too much trouble. Just live by the phrase "ice up son."

You got this, OP! Dust yourself off and go for it. Also, you should probably pace yourself as ten minutes into the run your circulation will make your thighs feel like they are burning/itching.

I don't think you were supposed to take "hit the ground running" literally...

you ma'am have my vote for the top comment

Well they really didn't even get running, sorta just hit the ground lol

op, at least you made the effort to get up and get outside. A lot of people can't make it that far sometimes. The first step in a journey to change oneself is usually the hardest. Congrats on making that step. Just remember to take it slow if you haven't worked out in a long time. You could injury yourself...oh wait...nevermind

In OP's case the first step was the porch step, and she missed that one.

Aww its ok op just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and go for your goal. Good luck op!
