Today, I met up with a couple I know, who wanted to introduce me to someone. I thought they were setting me up with her, but no. They were coming out as polyamorous, and she was their new girlfriend. FML

Why was this a shitty thing to do? Sounds like OP misunderstood the reason for the meeting. It’s not shitty to introduce your friends to important people in your life.

For all the haters: I don’t see how this is any less valid than someone coming out as gay and introducing their same sex partner to a valued friend.
