I’m not going to defend the guy, assuming nothing is left out of OP’s post, but RUN AWAY as fast as you can. Then file a restraining order if he continues trying to contact. I’d also look into therapy, as you may end up dealing with trauma he caused during the relationship, or find out you also have problems underneath you may need to address as well…
