Infrastructurally deprived

Today, I learned the “almost complete” transit that would cut my commute in half is delayed at least another year. When I chose my high school, they said it would be complete by the year’s end. I’m a senior now and it definitely won’t be done before my graduation. FML

Sorry you don't know how infrastructure projects work. "Almost complete" is the end goal. Once it's complete, there's no more money to be made. It certainly won't be done by the time you graduate. It might be done by the time you retire.

That's miserable, you had all the good intentions, but they were based on someone else following through with promises. This rarely works out. I'm sorry you had to learn the hard way that most institutions are flakey at best, crooked most of the time, and definitely unreliable. In the end you can only trust yourself. If you can trust yourself that is!

Never rely on the government or government hired companies to be on time with things. I always plan for any of their projects that is in my commute to be a problem until it is no longer a problem regardless of signage. I don't get my hopes up, and I use alternate routes until I happen to drive by and see it done. I have seen projects last multiple years with constantly adjusted "completion time frames".
