Today, my now ex and I had a fight because I refuse to tolerate his best friend's raging misogyny and racism. I told him that laughing at those jokes and tolerating those behaviors is just as bad as him doing it himself. He claims it’s not, because he’s dating me and I’m half black so "it’s OK”. FML

Sounds like, based on your username, you made the right call. Dating is a responsibility, and dating someone of another race is a big responsibility. Clearly he wasn’t up for it.

Just because you date a biracial person or person of another race doesn't mean you aren't racist. Marrying a woman does not mean a man isn't a misogynist. Since your ex didn't have the fortitude to tell his friend to knock it off with the shitty behavior, you're well rid of him.
