Today, I had to sit in silence at a restaurant table as my friends ripped into the Tesla Cybertruck and laughed about how "shit and cringe" it is. I was silent because I couldn't bring myself to defend it, even though I think they're pretty cool, and I actually want one. FML

Today, I tried to impress my girlfriend's dad by showing off my "impressive" knowledge of cars. When he mentioned she had a problem with her engine, I jokingly told him it was probably the “flux capacitor” that needed adjusting. He stared at me blankly and said, “You know that’s from Back to the Future, right?” FML

Today, I told my girlfriend that one of my intellectually challenged friends now holds an engineering position at an aircraft company. She wasn't a fan of flying before, and now refuses to set foot anywhere near any aircraft of any kind. FML

I mean, the idea of being strapped into a cylinder surrounded by hard vacuum that means if anything were to happen to rupture the vehicle I would suffocate and die doesn’t exactly thrill me. I also work with high vacuum equipment at work, and leak checking a small vacuum system is a bitch, let alone a giant tunnel and a bus-sized vehicle.
