Today, I got a job babysitting two really sweet kids. When their parents left, they told me that their cat had died. I told them how sorry I was, to which one of them replied, "That's okay. We still have him in a box. Wanna see?" FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, our family cat died. I had to explain this to my two small children, who had no experience with death. I ended up bawling like a baby while they consoled me, telling me she had, "gone to a better place." FML
Today, I visited a friend's house, where I found out he has a trio of very friendly cats in his yard. After playing with them for a bit, I went inside. An hour later, my friend informed me that one of them had died. None of them were showing any signs of being near death. I'm sad and confused. FML
Today, my cat died. But, before he could bite the dust, he left a goodbye present on my bed: a decapitated baby rabbit. FML
Today, I knew it was going to be a fun day when I woke up to find that my kids' new puppy had died in the night. FML
Today, I was babysitting my little cousin when we decided to go outside and have a "treasure hunt" in the backyard. The first thing we found? The bones of her pet dog who had passed away four years ago. FML
Today, I was crying because my cat died. My boyfriend cupped my face in his hands, looked me straight into the eyes and said, "I love seeing you cry." FML
Today, at my job at a pet store, my boss told me to go outside and hand out flyers. I saw a man sitting on a bench and walked up, saying, "Hi! Do you have a pet?" He teared up and said, "I just put her down this morning." FML
Today, I was crying at my desk at work. My colleague tried to cheer me up by saying: "Don't worry, I'm sure you will find a new job soon". I didn't even know I was fired. I was crying because my cat died this morning. FML
Today, a customer brought his cat in to be euthanized. I told him to "have a nice day" as he was leaving. FML
Today, I was on a date with a girl I've been crushing on for a while. At one point we started talking about pets we'd had. I wanted to show my sensitive side, so I told her how I sadly had to get my beloved cat euthanized earlier that week, and had buried her in my backyard. Her response? "Ew." FML

Naw, it died 6 months ago. It's a rotting corpse by this point. Trust me, its hard to bury your cat when you live in an apartment..

Chances are the cat died fairly recently and the parents don't know yet. The kids are likely to young to fully grasp death and what happens after it.

Lots of people keep ashes in a box. It's really not uncommon at all.

9 - I have ashes in boxes for two of my pets. When they were cremated, the company put the ashes in a bag and then put the bag in a carved wooden box with the animals name engraved on it. It's not uncommon at all.

Woulda asked if they wanted to bury it and give it a nice funeral. Seems like a nice way to turn it around and a nice thing to do in general.

Annnnnnd the parents don't know about this? Or did you actually see it and it just wasn't something they kinda "made up"? Maybe you should talk to the parents about it. I mean, at least they aren't little ***** like you normally read about on FML...so if the only thing bad you really have to deal with is a dead cat in a box than I would totally be thankful. :)
