Forget the space heater, get some insulation!!!
You can get window insulation on the internet. Google: Secondary Glazing Window Insulation Film. Storm guard is a decent brand. It's plastic sheets you tape to the window frame and then go over it with a hairdryer to shrink it to size and fit. It looks a bit meh but it stops draughts for very little money. Pair of decent thermal curtains over the window and the bedroom door and it'll be livable. If the draught isn't from the window then I can only suggest play doh to fill the cracks. If there's a fireplace involved then the window film will also cover it.
