Cooking for none

Today, I wanted to bake some chocolate chip cookies. As the first load was done, I tasted a cookie and it tasted too salty. Thinking it was because of the pinch of salt, I added more sugar to the batter, only to realize that the sugar I've put into the whole batter was actually salt. FML

Throwing a dinner

Today, I hosted a family dinner. I made a roast, potatoes, green beans, and homemade bread. Everything went smoothly until I realized halfway through I'd used powdered sugar instead of flour. No one noticed at first, then my aunt asked in horror, “Why's it taste like cake?” The rest of the meal was eyed suspiciously and I almost fainted from the stress. FML

Sugar and salt don't actually cancel each other out, you know...

I'm just bothered that you did a "load" of cookies and added sugar to cookie "batter." In what world is it not a batch of cookies and cookie dough?

On the plus side, you won’t get diabetes! (High blood pressure is another story.)

Hahaha the amount of times I've mixed the two up is too high 😂. Now, I have everything labelled lol.

Especially if you keep mistaking one for the other.

Now that's what I call a salty situation!

How do people confuse the two? they come in different types of containers and they have Salt and Sugar written on the container smh

Agreed. And they have a completely different texture

Some people put them in containers after they open the package, so that explains the possible lack of labeling. Not registering the different textures, I got nothing for

I have no clue how people mix these up.

These cookies must have been really really salty. How messed up are your tastebuds that you believe a bit of added sugar will cancel out that much saltness?

Years ago when my spicy tolerance was much lower, had a can of spicy chili with lots of ketchup. It was a bit too spicy for me, so next time I added even more ketchup. Somehow it was even spicier. I looked at the ketchup bottle and it was spicy ketchup.

And I thought I couldn't cook! This makes me feel better about myself!
