I've had the same thing happen to me. Sad part is, my mother helped my friend organize it all. A week later, she remember and got me a card. The card said, "Sorry I forgot, here's 5 dollars. Happy Late Birthday." It was my 16th birthday. I feel your pain.

Ditch the bitch! Having her birthday on the same day was really catty and messed up. You should have messed up her party - everybody loves a good catfight :) But still, how could you let her walk all over you? Why didn't you throw a party yourself?

When she went to blow out her candles you should have beat her to it announcing that it was really YOUR birthday and then left with one of her presents. Jk but seriously she's not a good friend. Better luck next year!

you know, i used to get pissed that no one remembered my birthday until i realized that i didn't really care about other people's birthdays either. not saying i'm a bad friend who doesn't care at all and won't chip in for a birthday meal or get a present. but really if you think about it, who in your life cares about your birhtday? your mom, your best friend, the person you're seeing and everyone else will use it as an excuse to have a bbq. really, think about it.
