Change the station

Today, I managed to not think too much about how alone I feel living in a strange city, and I went out to find a quiet place to write and eat. After I ordered my meal, I saw that I was the only diner that was sitting alone at a table. Then "All By Myself" came on the radio. FML

^ has a point. People likely won't come up and introduce themselves to you. You will have to make the effort to meet others. Perhaps check for groups in your city that share a common interest. You might be able to talk a bit online and feel them out before you meet (in a public place, of course). Find what interests you, and frequent areas that relate to your interest and you will meet others with the same passions.

Hey, you wanted a quite place. There's definitely a correlation between noise level, and amount of people. Go somewhere noisy and you'll probably find people.
