Today, I woke up with a electric dog collar on my neck. I wouldn't have noticed it until my stepfather turned the collar to the highest intensity just to wake me up. FML

I wouldn't use one on my animals much less on one of my kids. You need to have a serious talk with him and your mom. That's not acceptable

Wow your stepdad is an ass. Talk to your mom about it and if that doesn't make any difference then go to the police or someone else that will help you. That's just cruel! And to everyone saying they're cruel to put on animals they work if your dog isn't a total dumbass. I had a black lab that a shock collar with an underground fence was literally the ONLY way to keep her in our yard. She would hear the beeping and know she was getting to close and was about to get shocked and would move away. It's not cruel if you use it properly.

If you are under age, call child protection services. If you are 18+ tell your dad not to do that again or you'll call the police for assault.

He could go to jail for that. If you are a minor it's categorised as child abuse. If not that is at least assult. Possibly torture for both the electric collar and it's use to disrupt your sleeping pattern but that is very dependent on the situation.
