Today, my mother sent a letter to my best friend trying to comfort her over the death of her mother. She signed the letter "LOL, Jen" thinking LOL stood for "lots of love." FML

i once sent my mom a txt asking her where she was and she said wtf, i was like huh she said with the family. now when she txts she trys putting the whole txt by just the first letter to make her own "LOL" like how am i surpose to know hhydb means how has your day been...lol But still that really does suck but your friend will understand, and hopefully everything turns out okay for her :)

Your life is not f**ked and you didn't deserve it, so I don't see how anyone could click either one. It's old people! What do they know about internet language. Maybe her friend won't know, and if she cares then I'm sure your mom will explain it and they'll be fine. but it is a fail

So just explain to your friend that she meant Lots of Love....I doubt your friend will think she's trying to write Laughing Out Loud. This doesn't seem like an FML, just explain it. No big deal. I was good of your mom to take the time to write the card.

HAHAHHAHAHAHAH EPIC. I had to inform my mum of the more common meaning amoungst this gen as well lol.

explain to your friend? Honestly this has nothing to do with your life.

This FML is more of the mom's not the OP's

im sorry for the loss of your friends mom, but this is definitely one of my favorite FMLs lol i couldnt stop laughing

Not deserving of an FML, but nor did you personally deserve it. LOL does mean lots of love in many cases, and I'm sure the person recieving it would understand. You know, there was a world of abbreviations before the internet became so popular.
