So yeah I've seen some comments asking for a follow up... I'm a girl. my mom has always said that her greatest regret was not having more children herself, but she's, you know, going through menopause... So I think wanting a lot of grandchildren is her way of making up for that. She has also clarified that she will be happy with four grandchildren, which is what I want to have. It was just wishful thinking that she could have that many grandchildren to help raise. Sorry if this long comment is confusing, but I hope it helps to clear things up!

It's a good thing she doesn't have a say in the matter. The number of grandkids she wants is irrelevant, it only matters how many kids you want and can support financially.

Yeah the idea of wrangling ten kids in and out of a panel van to go to the grocery store because no babysitter in the world want to watch ten kids sounds like a nightmare. Never mind feeding them all, getting them ready for school or helping them with college. The urge to have more and more children is something I will never understand, I cringe watching mothers arm wrestle three kids under the age of 5 -_-

I cringed when I saw a mom pushing a triple stroller. I also know a mom who has 6 boys. I have one kid, and that is plenty for me personally.

This reminds me of when my mother was harping at my sister about wanting grandchildren. It was starting to annoy my sister, so I put a stop to it by suggesting that if she wanted grandchildren, she should just wait 9 months and I would provide several. ;-) Somehow the converstion topic changed very quickly..
