This doesn't mean they are a bad counselor. There are times when, no matter who you are, you need out. Maybe their spouse was abusive? Or had an affair that led to a love child? Or was addicted to heroin? There are plenty of reasons to get divorced that therapy won't fix.

PS Marriage counseling isn't a guarantee, no matter what the problems are. It's just something you do so you can try your best to fix things. Sometimes people just aren't meant to be married. There is NOTHING wrong with that. Maybe your counselor was in marriage counseling for years and in the case of their marriage, it simply just didn't work.
