Today, my ex-wife, who I have a 1000-yard restraining order against since she threatened my new wife and our kids, moved into a house down the street. The police say they can't do anything because her house is more than 1000 yards from mine. It's 1012 yards away. FML

Remember that a restraining order is just a piece of paper, and that's exactly how people like her see it. The law can't do anything to help you right now, so always keep your guard up and protect your family.

That's genuinely scary. If you don't own a gun, consider one.

Revise the restraining order to 2000 yards.

now that she already lives there, they will not

You need a really good security system.

surely she is in breach if this pretty much when ever you move more than 3 metres in her direction? and then she would be arrested?

So you can have her arrested every time she goes 12 yards in the wrong direction. Sounds like that could work in your favor.

Put up a security/privacy fence so she can see our get in. Get a new security system. Go graph to the judge about her mockery of the order. This sucks. I wish you luck, OP.

When reading things like this, I can't help but wonder how two people who were married get into this kind of situations and relationships...😕

If at all possible, try investing in security cams for your property.

Time to move to a different town/state altogether! My question is, how did she find you in the first place?

go back to court and ask it to be extended to 1200 yards.
