Today, my coworker was telling me about his mom, when he asked about mine. I told him that I've never met my mom, because she died during my childbirth. It's a very painful subject for me, but all the same, my coworkers have decided they'll now only address me as "Tyrion". FML

At least he's a beloved character. I also have lost my mother. but this is harmless water cooler pop culture jabs at one another. Everyone suggesting reporting them... seriously get over yourselves. It's no reason for everyone to waste time at "sensitivity training". lf everyone would chill out and take a joke the world would be a much better place.

#59 Someone being mocked for their mother being dead is really insensitive and not ok. You shouldn't be telling people to chill out and get over themselves for reconising that someone has been really hurt by comments made about them. Something may be said as a joke but that doesn't mean that it is necessarily funny and jokes should be made with someone not at them.

59 if people would be a bit more empathetic towards fellow humans and not purposefully say harmful things, the world would be a better place. I'll back up OP before I back up assholes who are okay with spreading hate and cruel "jokes".
