Today, I was running with two other women when a guy started tailing us in his car and catcalling. I quickly got fed up and gave him the finger. Turns out, he's the husband of one of the women I was running with. For the next half hour, I had to listen to her go on about how adorable he was. She totally saw what I did. FML

A stranger catcalling you is not fun and adorable and you had no way of knowing. On the other hand, I'm sure he didn't mean to spook you.

This is something you could laugh off two minutes after it happened, why the sitcom-esque awkwardness game?

Well that was a totally appropriate response to the situation, I've seen women in the same situation walk over to the cat caller and punch or mace them not to mention him following you while harassing you is technically sexual harassment and stalking and some states might want to let the running buddy know that before a cop pulls him over , tho that would teach him a lesson.

If she thinks it’s cute to put her running buddies in an awkward situation, I wouldn’t run with her anymore. If the others didn’t know it was a game with them either, they were probably tiring of it too and glad you did it.

And you're feeling awkward? perhaps the wonderful husband should feel like he's been behaving shabbily...
Maybe he only does it to make his wife feel good, but still, for the friends, it's not cool at all.
