Today, I was at the Salvation Army when I saw a wheelchair in the miscellaneous aisle. I thought it would be fun to ride around in it. As I was wheeling it back to where I found it, I made it back just as it's owner was hobbling out of the dressing room. FML

Today, while leaving work, I noticed a woman struggling with her wheelchair. Trying to be kind, I grabbed the handles and began to push her. A few moments later, the front wheels caught on something and I ended up dumping her onto the ground. Now my coworkers all think I'm a huge douche. FML

Today, while walking in the mall, I had two people race past me in wheelchairs. Thinking they were racing, I started rooting for the one guy that was ahead. Turns out his wheelchair was malfunctioning and the other was chasing after to help. He then slammed and fell into the water fountain. FML

Today, I worked up the confidence to go to the mall alone for the first time since being confined to a wheelchair. It didn't even take 20 minutes before some teenager grabbed my wheelchair and tried to race me around, all while his friends watched and laughed. FML

Today, I went to a bar which has two stories. I was on the top floor and then went downstairs. As I was going down, I recognised a boy in a wheelchair and his friends trying to get him up. I helped and took the wheelchair. One of his friends decided it would be a good moment to steal my wallet. FML

Today, I was on a scavenger hunt. One of the things on the list was to ask a stranger to marry them. I saw an old lady in a wheel chair; I tried to make her day by asking her to marry me. She declined and attempted to run me over with her wheel chair. FML

Today, I was leading a wheelchair fundraiser to raise money to make public areas wheelchair accessible. I had several guest speakers, all of which were confined to wheelchairs. About ten minutes after the fundraiser was supposed to begin, I realized that the stage was wheelchair incompatible. FML

Today, a co-worker and I walked out of our office at the same time. He got in his car, which was parked right out front. I asked him what I had to do to get a sweet parking spot like that. He rolled up his pant leg and show me his prosthesis. He was in the handicapped spot. FML

So you took it for a spin, and they got it back in time. The big issue? None really. It didn't even have a mileage gauge so you could have said you were about to take it to the front/desk or whatever and report it when you heard the person coming out. Not even worth a vote.

Ok everyone acting high and mighty "why would you play in a wheel chair? That's not funny! Why would you think that's fun? Who does that?" etc etc honestly just shut it. At some point in their lives most people have thought it would be fun to take a spin in a wheelchair. We like things on wheels: cars, bikes, skateboards, rollerblades etc, those are all fun so wheelchairs appeal to us. Anyone who hasn't ever thought it would be fun to try on little while is clearly just a boring person. Chill people.

A wheelchair isn't the kind of thing most people leave around unattended, and Salvation Army stores sometimes stock a lot of miscellaneous crap, so it wasn't too unreasonable for the OP to think it was for sale. Besides, wheelchairs are rather fun to ride from time to time if you're not handicapped.
