Not a FML. Just the course of life. Happens to every parent. 1) Kid starts experimenting 2) Decides to go for "bitch" 3) Parent smacks the kid a few times 4) Kid learns that "bitch" isn't so great Not a FML unless you're one of those gutless parents who skips step #3 and then their kid actually does continue down the bitch track. In which case YDI.

some of you who have replied should be ashamed of yourselves. OP, in all honesty, you absolutely deserved this, even if u didn't see it coming. punitive discipline, especially physical punishment, only creates more behavior problems, and even in the case that it "works", you are only causing the child to fear you, not to respect you or behave appropriately. I'd strongly suggest reading up on other alternative discipline practices. modeling appropriate behavior is a good place to start, and age three is not too late to change your tune and make a positive difference.

look there's nothing wrong with physical discipline as long as it's not abuse. my parents got on me hard when I was a kid and guess what I didn't fear either one of them but it did make me straighten up. there are other ways but how often do they work? sometimes you gotta just go old school on kids
