You don't get a parking ticket for no reason. You get a parking ticket if you parked wrong, or you parked in a no parking zone, or if you park in a spot that there's no parking during a certain time of the day. If you can't be bothered to read the damn signs, then YDI. You know what I did, when I realized it would be impossible for me to find on campus parking at my school at 10am? I paid for parking the first day, and then I went driving around to find the closest FREE legal street parking. Yeah, it's a mile away. And no, I won't get a ticket, because I READ THE PARKING SIGNS and know when it's illegal to park, and when it's not. So I don't get tickets.

http://www.fmylife.com/search/result?texte=4ac339d5b6b46&article=1&from=top Very similar, especially the 1 mile away part, but I'll give the OP the benefit of the doubt and just say YDI.

I agree that if you parked illegally and failed to notice the signs that I'm sure were there, then you deserve the ticket. However, I must point out this absolutely outrageous comment: "yeah I thought so too, why is everyone being cheap so lately" Are you absolutely kidding me? There couldn't BE a MORE appropriate time to be, as you would shallowly call it, "cheap." MILLIONS of people are being forced to seriously, seriously watch their expenses these days. Such a comment is outright stupid and inconsiderate. I can't believe someone not wanting to pay $12 a day for parking would be labeled as a cheap bastard...you guys are quite retarded. That being said, if you're trying to cut expenses, parking illegally is certainly not the way to do it. As you learned, you're hurting your wallet more. Oh, and lastly, in response to this comment: "that's literally the dumbest thing ever....if you have to walk a mile to get to work then you might as well pay the damned $12" Firebird, do you suffer from obesity by any chance? Are you incapable of walking more than 10 feet? I am a chainsmoker who already has a history of respiratory problems, yet a one mile walk is still absolute cake. I can't believe America's gotten to the point where someone is ridiculed for walking a mile to work...retardation at it's finest. Still, painfully stupid comments aside, you still get a YDI from me because you shouldn't park illegally. It's very possible you didn't see any notices, but perhaps this will teach you to look harder next time.

How did I know you were going to jump down my throat for a simple comment? Oh yeah, because you're the biggest irrational douchebag on this site. Everytime I see a comment from you it's always one insulting someone and calling them names, or completely unnecessarily blowing up at someone. Get off the steroids, moron. Shouldn't you be out beating up four-year-olds instead of commenting on FML?

You're one to be calling anyone stupid. Obviously your life is in the toilet since you seem to be a hostile dick overcompensating for your sad existence, and have no one to release your anger out on in reality since you're probably holed up in mommy's basement putting yourself to sleep at night with thoughts of your depressing life, but try not to take it out on everybody else. Instead, try a nice cry. Wipe your tears, blow your nose, and shut the fuck up, douchebag.

Funny how you had to go through and spew out your life history to me. You must be very insecure! I'm glad I only skimmed through your novel, because I really don't care what you do. And I can tell you have body issues from the way you lash out unnecessarily at anyone who dares to reply to a comment you make. I wonder what you do in reality when, God forbid, someone makes eye contact with you?

Oh, boo hoo. I'm sorry, oh righteous one, but I meant body image issues. If your tiny brain can't figure that one out, you have more issues with more than just your image. And, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, let's see: body image issues = low self esteem = you, fuckhole. The same way a person with a tiny dick overcompensates with a huge truck. You do have a huge truck, don't you? You are such a sad, sad person. Go die.

mushrooms- I've got four words for you. SHUT THE FUCK UP. Your comments are seriously starting to piss me off. You're complaining about people being rude and obnoxious and yet you're over here insulting people for no apparent reason but your own pride. Now stop being a little bitch and let people live their lives. Have a nice day, fucktard.

Agreed, although those people probably lied about their age and are just inconsiderate children, so dont feed them the 'big words' that they dont know.

Let me just restate mushrooms' comments. Bitchity bitch bitch complain on a website bitching at people crying over other people's issues calling people douchebags whilst being a hypocrite bitchity bitch bitch. Are you proud that you know your 'big boy words' now? Fuck you.

YDI for working

I think someone said this, but walking 1 mile to work is not hard. Unless you are completely out of shape. I'm not a marathon runner, but walking 1 mile is nothing at all.... I would definitely want to do that instead of paying $12. But I wouldn't park somewhere illegally... OP I guess YDI... but maybe you didn't see a sign, so I will actually vote FYL.

Oh suck it up. Today, I got a ticket for parking too close to a fire hydrant ( so the law says fifteen feet on either side.... i was parked at least 5 feet awat and I got a ticket for being "two" feet away.

I didn't say that I shouldn't get a ticket, but the cop could have at least been right about the distance. Also, there was a car parked in front of the hydrant that was only about 2 feet further away than I was, and they didn't get a ticket. We were both parked within 15 ft of the hydrant, yet only I got the ticket. Is that fair? No.
