Thank you 42. That was the exact reason why I posted it. I never knew so much people on here would take this post to heart. It isn't that serious to hate me for it.

You aren't making a good case for yourself. It sounds like you aren't a responsible pet owner. I have 2 very large dogs and they are always behind the fence or on a lead. There isn't any reason your dog should be able to go around the neighborhood unsupervised.

Show it anywayI grew up on a farm where yes, our dogs did roam around, but, they also knew their boundaries since some neighbours (albeit they lived quite a ways away) didn't care whose dogs it was on their property, would bring out the guns and shoot. Dogs packing up or disturbing cattle and horses etc was not tolerated. If you didn't train your dog to know its home turf and to stay within it, your dog would not live too long.
#47: As a former country girl I can tell you that more than once we had to shoot at dogs with a bb gun because they were threats to our livestock, being in the country is no excuse to let them run around unattended. Oh and before you call me a dog hater and abuser, the pellets were rubber and we only hit them in the hip where it only left a small welt. Any other farmer would have shot them dead.
If OP lives in the country, that makes it even worse. It would mean that either the OP had binoculars trained on his dog watching him do all of this stuff, or he was following the dog around and didn't bother to stop him.
You should shut the heck up. obviously dogs are fast and can easily go somewhere else so stop giving the author a hard time. It's just a freaking post I'm sure the owner apologized and cleaned up the poop
I hope you aren't one of the lazy Ass people who let their dogs out front to crap on other's lawns so you don't have to deal with it
Most humorous post all day!
And y'all are pretty quick to judge- maybe the dog dug itself out? Maybe the dog hopped over the fence? Maybe a neighborhood kid left the gate to OPs backyard open? There are so many different possibilities. I'm pretty sure OP didn't just let his dog run loose.
#51 "I let my dog out" didn't tip you off that OP well, LET The dog OUT. I think if the dog escaped that would have been stated instead.
Well at least he's having fun

I find that the monthly payments on leasing a dog are quite reasonable, but the interest is just ridiculous.
Sorry but YDI for letting your dog outside without supervision or an electric fence.
