Today, I let my dog outside to play. He shat on three cars, played dead in the middle of the street, and chased my neighbors' cat into a pool. When he came back into the house, he had a note taped to his back saying "IOU 1 lawsuit". FML

Thank you 42. That was the exact reason why I posted it. I never knew so much people on here would take this post to heart. It isn't that serious to hate me for it.

I find that the monthly payments on leasing a dog are quite reasonable, but the interest is just ridiculous.

Sorry but YDI for letting your dog outside without supervision or an electric fence.

You aren't making a good case for yourself. It sounds like you aren't a responsible pet owner. I have 2 very large dogs and they are always behind the fence or on a lead. There isn't any reason your dog should be able to go around the neighborhood unsupervised.

Way to go OP, you deserve that one. Why would you let your dog out without supervision? And without training from the sound of it. You could have let it into the backyard where it was fenced (if you have one in a backyard that is). Would have saved you quite a bit of trouble...

I didn't think it was funny. His dog is a menace and the OP should be ashamed for not training his dog or being a responsible dog owner.

So what, you just let him run free out the front door? How do you know he did all that, were you watching him out the window or something? If so, that's an even bigger YDI that you let him do all that and didn't bring him inside. I hate crappy dog owners.

I grew up on a farm where yes, our dogs did roam around, but, they also knew their boundaries since some neighbours (albeit they lived quite a ways away) didn't care whose dogs it was on their property, would bring out the guns and shoot. Dogs packing up or disturbing cattle and horses etc was not tolerated. If you didn't train your dog to know its home turf and to stay within it, your dog would not live too long.

#47: As a former country girl I can tell you that more than once we had to shoot at dogs with a bb gun because they were threats to our livestock, being in the country is no excuse to let them run around unattended. Oh and before you call me a dog hater and abuser, the pellets were rubber and we only hit them in the hip where it only left a small welt. Any other farmer would have shot them dead.

If OP lives in the country, that makes it even worse. It would mean that either the OP had binoculars trained on his dog watching him do all of this stuff, or he was following the dog around and didn't bother to stop him.

You should shut the heck up. obviously dogs are fast and can easily go somewhere else so stop giving the author a hard time. It's just a freaking post I'm sure the owner apologized and cleaned up the poop

I hope you aren't one of the lazy Ass people who let their dogs out front to crap on other's lawns so you don't have to deal with it

Nothing here sounds lawsuit worthy. You could offer to wash the cars that were.. marked.. and that sucks about your neighbors cat, I hope it is dry by now. I don't see lawsuit.. Unless the dog left scratch marks from his nails on the cars?

And y'all are pretty quick to judge- maybe the dog dug itself out? Maybe the dog hopped over the fence? Maybe a neighborhood kid left the gate to OPs backyard open? There are so many different possibilities. I'm pretty sure OP didn't just let his dog run loose.

If that was the case, OP would have wrote "Today I put my dog outside to play where he dug out of the yard..."

#51 "I let my dog out" didn't tip you off that OP well, LET The dog OUT. I think if the dog escaped that would have been stated instead.
