Today, I had to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night. Even though they know I don't have any money, let alone shoes on my feet, my parents have decided it's far too much trouble to come pick me up because we're on vacation and they want to have fun. FML

Today, my family and I were just about to leave the house for the vacation that I had been saving up for 3 years. I was coming down the stairs with a heavy suitcase and I tripped and fell breaking my leg, now my family's gone without me while I'm in hospital. I paid for the vacation. FML
Today, I was at my friend's birthday party, dancing barefoot because my feet hurt from my shoes' heels. Apparently, someone dropped a glass on the dancefloor and didn't warn anybody. I ended up having to drive myself to the emergency room because all my friends were "having too much fun to leave." FML
Today, I went to the emergency room for a broken collarbone. This wouldn’t be so bad if my parents hadn’t paid $20,000 for me to go to a snowboarding academy all winter. Today was day one. FML
Today, my parents told me that I'm going on our upcoming family vacation and that's final. I broke both my legs in an accident and have to use a wheelchair. I"m in constant pain and don't want to go anywhere. FML
Today, I fell down a flight of stairs at college. I was taken to hospital with a fractured ankle and had to call my parents to drive me home. They constantly made passive-aggressive remarks on the way home, because I'd "totally ruined" their plans to eat out at a fancy restaurant tonight. FML
Today, my daughter's school called to inform me that I needed to bring her some sneakers. Not feeling like driving the 15 minutes to her school, I told them I was away from town. Then I realized I was on my house phone. FML
Today, after working two jobs and saving constantly this year all for a month-long solo vacation traveling to 7 countries, I arrived in first one. Within three hours I fell and broke my foot, forcing me to come home in fear of needing surgery. FML
Today, I drove 10 hours on a broken foot to get away, because my drunk dad decided to shove me to the ground multiple times, and now I have to get fusion surgery on my foot. I also found out he’s trying to get me arrested for burglary. FML
Today, I'm sitting in the ER with my boyfriend because he decided to run over my foot with his new fancy bike. I think my foot's broken. We can't afford the bike, much less the ER bill with it. FML
Today, it's my third day in the hospital. On Monday, my mother grounded me for not going to school because I was “milking” a sore foot. On Wednesday, we finally went to the ER and it turns out I have a very bad infection in my foot. She refuses to come to the hospital. FML

Have your own party/vacation in the hospital with other patients and when they finally come to get you tell them they aren't invited. Also, wear the hospital bill as a party hat.

WTF is wrong with them? Vacation or otherwise, I can't even imagine letting my daughter go to the ER by herself, let alone leaving her stranded in a strange place without anything. I'm sorry your parents are such assholes.

I'd encourage you to report this behaviour to authorities because this case sounds like neglect on your parents' part if you are under eighteen years old though I'm curious as to how you landed yourself in the emergency facility. The reasons for your visit may be your fault in which case I'm less sympathetic

Are you an adult? How far away from you were they? Is it reasonable to expect people to break their holiday to take you to hospital? Why don't you take responsibility for yourself?

They were already at the hospital. They needed to be picked up. I'm sure if it weren't such an emergency they would have had on shoes... and money to get to where they needed to go. It doesn't automatically make them irresponsible.

Picking OP up won't break her parents' holiday; OP is on vacation with them. She said "we're on vacation" and that doesn't mean her parents told her "we're on vacation" since she said "they want to have fun" and not "we want to have fun." This is unmistakeably shit parenting from incredibly selfish people.

I would think whoever called the ambulance could've grabbed shoes, unless OP lost them doing something drunk/stupid that resulted in the ER visit.
