Today, I had an interview for a new position in my company. The head of HR decided to sit and I got so nervous that I just spouted gibberish for 45 minutes. Pretty sure I convinced her I’m not qualified for the position I’m currently in. FML

Some very old but still effective advice if you can manage to do it:

First go on a couple of interviews for positions for jobs that you are qualified for but don’t really want - Do not tell them that, of course. Then interview for the position you really want.

Everybody is nervous their first interview. A good interviewer will sense that and try to put the person interviewing for the job more at ease. With practice it gets easier.
