Today, I found out my mom thought I was a lesbian because I dated a girl in high school. I didn't date anyone in high school. Apparently, guys never asked me out because my best friend told everyone that I was her girlfriend. I had a two-year lesbian relationship that I never knew about. FML

Today, I found out that my mother has been telling everybody that I’m a lesbian, because both of her best friends have at least one gay child each, and she was feeling left out. This explains why people have been treating me differently the last few weeks. FML

Today, a "friend" of mine told everyone that I had a crush on a girl I used to be really good friends with 2 years ago. I never liked her that way, and had said that only to hide the fact that I'm gay and don't feel safe with boys. Her current boyfriend is seriously annoyed with me. FML

Today, my mom called me into the living room to say that she had something important to tell me. She then explained how she and my dad had "talked things over" and wanted me to know that they accept me and love me no matter what. Apparently my mom thinks I'm lesbian. I'm not. FML

Today, I told my mom I was with my female friend last night, because I wasn't ready to tell her about my new boyfriend. I didn't realize he gave me a hickey and now my whole family thinks I'm a lesbian. They won't stop making fun of me. FML

Today, I found out that my friends were convinced that I was gay. I have known most of them for 3 plus years, they all thought my girlfriend was a special shopping partner. I found this out while announcing my engagement. FML

Today, I was set up on a blind date. When I arrived, the person waiting for me was a woman. It appears that my friends have always thought I was a lesbian, and that they 'played along' when I talked about guys. FML

Oh man, the same thing happened to me in high school. My best friend told everyone that I was his girlfriend, so I ended up with no dates or boyfriends. I didn't find out until a couple of months after school ended, when an attractive guy from my class said he had a crush on me for the longest time but didn't want to approach me because I was already taken. All those years of feeling like I was this ugly, repellant monster that no guy wanted suddenly made sense.

I just find it hard to believe, throughout high school no one ever brought up the point that they knew you were A lesbian? Like, "oh I like you, but too bad you're not into guys". Not even once?

That is very creepy of your "best friend" to do. Make sure the relationships you have in your life are healthy - for instance they are ok with you having other friends.
