Too knackered to function

Today, as always, I have a built-in alarm clock: 6-7 hours after going to sleep, I will automatically wake up and easily stay awake. This would be quite handy, except for one annoying detail: I need at least 9 hours of sleep in order to be able to function. FML

i’d talk to a sleep specialist. they’re awesome and helped me a lot

It is good you are aware of what you have historically needed to function. That said, be careful messing with your body clock. A nap, as suggested, can help, though you might want to talk to your doctor as well.
