OP here, yes the girl was fine and laughing when I ran up to her to see if she was okay. My dogs just a very large, very excitable english mastiff puppy and the girl loves dogs so it worked out fine after I bought her another ice-cream. And my puppy wasn't on a leash because we were at a dog park playing with other dogs and she was very fired up. The little girls parent saw what happened and were very understanding :)

EVERYONE loves ice cream!
Ice cream is enough to make anyone nuts.
At least your dog has good taste?
That's ruff... for the little girl.
Hopefully the little girl's parents were understanding about it and she didn't get too hurt?
I doubt you'd think that way if you were the parent watching your little girl get tackled by a dog...the owner is always responsible for their own dog's actions...I hope OP at least bought the little girl another ice cream
If personally be afraid to buy the girl another ice-cream, the dog might want seconds :P

I love english mastiffs, I had one named thea she was not overweight at all but she was well over 200 lbs
okay you were at a dog park. that makes a world of difference. at first I was feeling ragey about you not controlling your dog but now its all the parents fault for having food in a dog park at all and especially giving it to a child who is probably only a little taller than most of the dogs.
That makes sense. Good that it all end well
That's good
That's awesome that they understood and that she wasn't harmed, I love those dogs, they're like four legged giant children, glad you replaced her ice cream.
Big dogs and little kids with food is usually a recipe for disaster. As long as the dog is friendly it can end well.
Maybe you should take your puppy on a walk before the dog park. I don't want to seem like a judgemental person, but all dogs should be taken on walk before going to a dog park so they don't become overly excited and bring too much energy into the park. A dominant dog can be calmed down so they are less likely to get in a fight with another dominant dog and an excited dog won't bring too much excitement and say tackle a girl. Hope you aren't offended or mad, but I hope if you try it, it will help you and your puppy out.
I imagine this child's future is now going to include the line "well doctor, I think it all began when..."
She'll probably hate dogs for the rest of her life now. Hopefully for OP, the dogs, and the little girls sake she wasn't hurt.
op seemed extremely nice to the victim, and if i were that girl i think i would be even happier than before getting attacked by the dog
All of these new FMLs come out when it's 2AM here. Gosh.
gosh
Well if it bothers you that much move to a different time zone :p
ice cream knows no bounds
What would you(r dog) do for a Klondike bar?
I'd do you for a Klondike bar ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Is the Klondike bar really necessary as motivation?
Could you make mine a Klon-dike bar if I volunteer to do you too? :P
Haha very punny- wait, no. Mine.
... Anyone else suddenly think of Jacksfilms' dog, Klondike?
