Today, I felt like adding my real middle name to my facebook name to make it look more professional. It was denied because they didn't feel it was a legitimate request. Minutes later, someone with the name of "Galactic Toast" friend requested me. FML

Today, while working in a customer service call center, a customer berated me for using a fake name. He said my name is "too stupid" to be real and that no sane person would ever use it. It was my real name. FML

Today, I received a friend request on Facebook from a girl I've had a crush on for a while. As I was about to accept it, it vanished. She explained later that she clicked on my name by accident, and didn't actually want to be friends at all. FML

Today, my coworker asked me to add her on Facebook. She has a common name, so I picked the one I thought was her. After no response for a while, I asked for the right spelling. She saw the one I thought was her and said, “I can’t believe you thought I was that ugly.” She wasn't joking. FML

For those who are curious: Facebook has its own automated detection system to filter out names that could be considered fake, or vulgar due to pedophiles, criminals, etc. OP, many people have some pretty weird middle names. Since your using the English version of the site (I assume) maybe the filter declined it because it is not a common name, or maybe it's a name that originates from another country. I wouldn't be that worried about it because, frankly, giving out your entire name isn't the safest thing to do. However, if it's bothering you that much you could contact them by email asking them to make an exception.

My surname was denied too. It's 'Vibe'. I had to write the facebook-team for them to create a profile for me. Took me several days creating an account, yay, go facebook!
