Today, despite running every day for the past year, I still find myself gasping for breath after a short 1-minute jog. FML

I’m the same. Despite being otherwise healthy and normal weight. You need to push past the first five minutes and then your heart rate should have stabilized. It’s the initial spike that makes you breathless.
