Today, after spending a day in the ER and a day in hospital, I was recovering from emergency surgery. My boyfriend left to eat and didn't come back. He texted me 4 hours later that he was drinking with his friends and that he loved his "brown eyed girl". My eyes aren't brown. FML

Probably knows fully well that you don't have brown eyes but is quoting the song that is likely playing in his head (it is in mine now). As for going drinking, it's often a good way to de-stress and you being in hospital is likely very stressful.

If this has happened before or keeps happening I would suggest breaking up with him. Sounds to me it's a fairly one sided relationship. Hope your wounds heal from whatever surgery you had to get!

Here's the thing with some people - they hate the hospital atmosphere and seeing loved ones in pain, so after what they consider a decent interval, they will make their escape. Doesn't mean they don't care. Drinking with friends might be a way of dealing with stress, and if wasn't just meant to be a fun reference to the song, the eye colour error may be a genuine mistake. My brother once copped hell from his girlfriend of six months for writing about her beautiful blue eyes on her birthday card. Her eyes were green. He'd just never noticed - and he loved her a lot; he married her later.

I'm not sure why everyone is dogging on this comment because it's quite actually on point, I remember when I went into labor not only did my son's father eat all the food in the guest kitchen in the hospital twice i might add, but he nearly passed out from all the stress n anxiety he then ran to the store to grab two very large tall cans of beer but in this case he came back more relaxed, sometimes when your stressed you do stupid things and even more so you have horrible scatter brain, like you can know something n some how still get it wrong, I do hope he really is not cheating on you tho an in your time of need he is unable to suck up his issues to be with you unless of course he really is just being a douche then you truly deserve someone better who csn no matter what be by your side
