The struggle

Today, I've realized how badly my social anxiety disorder has affected my ability to bond with relatives. I sat in silent regret as I listened to cousins and aunts relate fond memories of our recently departed grandma during family dinner. It hurts to know I'll never have another chance with grandma. FML

sorry for your loss! i think an important take away is that you know you want to connect and that your anxiety affects that, so now you can try to find ways to connect with your loved ones that are still here so you won't have that regret again. positive and soothing energy to you 🙏🏽

I think your grandmother likely understood that speaking to people was difficult for you, and she likely wouldn’t want you to keep beating yourself up over it. You might not have another chance with your grandmother, but you *do* have the chance to try and spend more time with your other relatives, if you want to. Social anxiety is difficult, but I think you can do it, if you want to.
