Today, I was lectured by my mom who saw me trying to play on my Switch during a weekday. The thing is, she doesn't even give me any time to play in the week, and then calls me out whenever I try to get a few decent hours on my Meta Quest and Switch during the weekends. Stop dictating me; give me a goddamn break. FML

Today, when I tried to play my new Switch, my girlfriend yelled at me to "put down the damn video games." I've barely had five minutes to use this thing without her bitching at me. The worst part? She gave it to me, for Christmas. FML

Today, my mom told me that I needed to manage my spending better. This is the same woman who will log onto Candy Crush Saga, play a level and not come remotely close to beating it, and then blow $20+ on it to complete it. She got just a tad angry when I pointed out this hypocrisy. FML

Today, my wife refuses to let me play my Xbox, except at the weekends, because it’s "a childish waste of time" and "we need to spend more time together", yet when we’re together she has no problem spending hours on games on her phone. No, she does not see the irony in this either. FML

Today, my mom caught me playing Mortal Kombat and had a fit about the violence, saying she read violent video games turn young people like me into mass murderers. I’m 29 years-old with my own flat and she still tries to treat me like a dumb impressionable teenager. FML

given you sound like you are still in school and fairly young... suck it up. This is the time in your life that will more or less define what your future looks like. don't do well enough... hope you have connections to keep you out of fast food as an adult. once Highschool ends you either need to be real smart or a real good worker to get looked at for a decent job. (or know people). school is a short part of your life, so stop whining and put in the effort so you can have a career to live with instead of a lifer in 3 different burger joints at minimum wage trying to make enough money to power your Gameboy. Personally I did ok and it still took hard work to get as far as I am.... and where I am isn't great, just better than many who were not so lucky.
