Today, I realized just how we humans are dooming ourselves every day with the progressively insurmountable climate change, while people are being stupid arguing which is best, cold weather or hot weather. And that's just to name a few things to think humans ain't evolving any further at all. FML

Today, there's a huge heat wave, all because corporations were reckless and accelerated climate change. Now, more people are buying more air conditioners, further worsening the climate crisis. FML
Today, on the brink of a stiflingly hot summer, I've come to a terrible realisation. It seems the apartment I've just moved into has been specially insulated to trap enough heat inside for the occupants to survive the planet's next Ice Age. FML
Today, I had environmental science class. My teacher doesn't believe humans are affecting climate change or that we should protect endangered species. He slants class discussions so now all my classmates agree with him. FML
Today, my boss still won't believe in climate change, and won't do anything to reduce our carbon footprint. FML
Today, I checked my local weather forecast. The highs are supposed to be 85-94°F (29-35°C) for 9 of the next 10 days. It's been 95-102°F (35-39°C) for the past week. I have no air conditioning. I'm so tired of this heat! Fuck climate change! FML
Today, I found out that my boyfriend thinks brushing his teeth is unnecessary, because, "the world is going to end because of climate change anyway." FML
Today, I was in a heated debate about climate change. I got so flustered that I forgot the word "volcano" and ended up calling them "exploding mountain things". End of the debate. Shame. FML
Today, my country’s congress failed on key legislation for social supports, voting rights and climate change. Thus probably dooming our democracy, our planet, and our species. Society may collapse within my lifetime. I don’t know how to protect my loved ones, nor how to process my grief and fear. FML
Today, I've come to accept that no matter how black-and-white an issue is, someone will always side with the obviously wrong point of view and take themselves 100% seriously while doing it. I don't want to live on this planet anymore. FML
Today, I learned just how disgusted I am by my own body, when I was debating whether or not I should wear a baggy hoodie in 92 degree Fahrenheit weather. FML

There is always hope that we can do better. I often think that we will most likely be the cause of our own extinction, whether by climate change, nuclear war or some other means of senseless self destruction. But new generations are born and each generation can and, hopefully, will learn of the previous generations mistakes and take other courses of action. Don't despair of a future that is not certain. And don't underestimate the potential of human betterment.

But new generations are born and each generation can and, hopefully, will learn of the previous generations mistakes and take other courses of action. Don't despair of a future that is not certain. And don't underestimate the potential of human betterment.

Evolving? Evolving? We're going backwards fast. A huge fraction of our society rejected a safe and effective vaccine and doubled the duration of the pandemic. Such a species has a dim future. Violence is making a big comeback in solving differences. At our zenith, nuclear annihilation was not imagined by most people, now it's back.

Sooo...you have anxiety, OP. My own revolves around nuclear apocalypse or zombie breakouts, so I feel you. You should talk to your doctor, but in the meantime, have you tried coming up with contingency plans for natural disasters? I find making plans helps a lot, even if you don't need to enact them right away.
