I don't have OCD and I won't be able to wear 2 different shoes for more than 1 minute. So don't worry if this doesn't work, it doesn't mean you failed, it is normal for a majority of people to be bothered by things that are not symetrical : wearing only one sock, one glove, having only one hand or socks wet by water, etc.

No disrespect, but... why? Start out with something small, something less noticable. Try wearing two different socks instead. Last thing you want is people to point out you're wearing two different shoes, just makes you more aware of the situation.

Everybody does. If you wore two identical shoes, one would be on the wrong foot and would hurt to walk in.

I’m diagnosed with severe OCD. It’s extremely hard to get ourselves out of the obsessions and compulsions but it’s needed to live as normally as possible. You’re doing great by actually pushing yourself to do an exposure! Most shy away from it but it is the best course to make the OCD voice quiet down. Continue to do small little things even if it’s just for an hour. Don’t push too much or it can set off a spiral downfall. Baby steps and try to stay positive! You got this
