Marooned

Today, I rented a 4x4 to take my wife to a secret secluded beach for our anniversary. I got as close as I could to the spot and parked on the beach. After a few romantic hours we returned to find the car half way up the windows with water. I forgot it was king tide. FML

Tide or no tide, who parks their car SO close to the beach (By that I mean the actual sea) that it gets washed with water? YDI, but at least you got a free wash! always look on the bright side of things.

You deserved this completely. I mean, it wouldn't necessarily kill you to park away from your spot, it would actually make it more romantic, walking down the beach, holding hands. It's just a case of forgetfulness, and tbh, a bit of bad planning

If it weren't for the tide, OP should have been fine. We used to go out to the beach and park within 3ish feet of the water, no problem. But were were always smart enough to move our car before the water got it.

He certainly got a free wash now he just has to wait for the rust to appear

It could have flooded the engine, then being on a "secluded" beach won't be the best idea

thats y u drive out it can make it also try a snorkle it helps A LOT

Yeah, I'm sure a snorkel would seal off every door and window, and make the car completely waterproof, and not to mention, the car was a rental, most, if not all, rentals don't have any modifications of that sort.

So did you also get washed in the tide? This doesnt make sense.

People use Tide to wash clothes all the time.

OP parked the car at the edge of the water, and then walked away from the car. He wasn't beside the car when it got washed over, and probably had his back turned and didn't notice it.

kikib, way to be a complete blond. tide refers the the water level. there's high tide and low tide. idk why op called it king tide. if you park a car near the water and it is low tide, if you wait long enough the tide rises. get it? good lord.

I know what he means by the tide. Im just saying why park so close to the water then be no where in sight to notice the tide coming in. Its stupid.

I understand you were trying to be romantic but why park so close to the water?

how'd you notice, would the water pass you guys on the beach first?

It would've been funny if you had sex in your car then you would really be wet.
