At least you got a call back
Did you tell them that? They don't deserve you anyway. I am sure there is a fantastic job waiting for you. Don't give up.
Maybe he came off stiff and aloof. Jobs are as much about fitting into a culture as anything else. Frankly, as a hiring manager I am shocked they would say anything at all. In the New World it is far better to say nothing more than, "we're sorry but we decided on a different candidate and our HR policies prevent us from saying more" than to expose your company to possible litigation.
Sounds like maybe they don't want anybody who's too smart, figuring that either they'd be bored or they'd be a threat to the boss's job.
So it is possible to be too smart
Wow. Apparently they don't want someone invested in their company if they turn away people for taking the time to research before interviewing. Sounds like what could easily be a destructive work environment anyway OP. Happy job hunting for a better opportunity
You're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't. Smh
Probably hired a babe he hoped to screw instead

You're qualified for the job, so we can't hire you. The logic. -.-
That's unfortunate OP seems quite dickish for them to say that Better luck next time!
