Don't print this FML

Today, I checked on an uncle following his surgery. I got a two-hour monologue of how the internet doesn't really save paper, because he has to print the bills and receipts, plus pay for ink and staples, and that utility companies are really just shifting costs to the consumer by going "paperless". I am sorry that your Uncle was cranky and did not appreciate your visit as much as he should have. You did the right thing. But in the future if someone just goes on and on negativity about things that aren’t your fault just find a reason to leave or hang up. Life is too short to waste. If Uncle is usually unpleasant like this, then what you got was about what you should have expected. If Uncle is usually more reasonable and pleasant then be aware that a few hours after an operation, the patient is still affected by the anesthesia and pain meds - because they would be in pain after a surgery - They may not be their usual self. I’m no doctor but I have had some major surgeries.

Sounds like the rant I tend to hear every Sunday dinner from my Dad. Though it’s usually a condensed version.

Your legs don't work? About five minutes into such a rant, I'd see my uncle was fine and get the hell out of there.

Technically, he has point, for people who prefer to have paper copies of everything. Mind blown LOL
