An apartment purchase will possibly mean that you will never own the land and may have to pay yearly maintenance fees but will never have to pay out for a big external repair. Please, if you are looking at an apartment, check what the outside cladding is made from. Grenfell in the UK was horrible.

You know, there are different sizes of houses. I myself got an apartment and a house (because of some insurance payout I got after I was involved in a car accident). The house is two stories and 60 square metres in base surface, and if you just decide it needs doing and get to it, it doesn't take that long. So I say you should try for a house, you might surprise yourself!
