Today, my 4 year-old son learned that burgers and chicken tenders are made from cows and chickens. I braced myself for the tantrum, only to hear, "They're yummy. Can we turn the cat into a burger? What do squirrels and dogs turn into?" Now I'm scared of my kid. FML

Now you need to explain that we don't eat carnivores because they taste horrible and don't have the nutrients that we need. This is why we only eat herbivores and occasionally omnivores. That should keep him from trying to lick the cat to see what it tastes like. If he's interested in Game meat, there's probably a butcher in your area that can do you 'sample' portions. Google how to cook each one properly (with the correct herbs/preparation) and let him explore as much as he wants.

Let's hope the butcher has Jehane Benoit's recipe for squirrels, or you will have to find a hunter that does. Fortunately, pigeon is easier to find, especially in authentic Chinese restaurants.
