Baker's dozen

Today, my dad undermined my life's work. I finally opened my own bakery, but my dad told me it's a "sissies job" since it doesn't involve manual labour like he did for 50 years and I'll probably go out of business, because no one will want cakes from a 6 foot 8 man with tattoos, piercings and a shaved head. How is baking not manual labour? It is the definition of manual labour and it's a very tiring job. Get your father to spend a day with you at the bakery to show him. By the way, not that it matters but a lot of the most famous bakers on Earth are straight men. EVERYONE likes cake, there is no gender or sexual orientation involved here.

Your dad clearly doesn’t know what he is talking about.
Don’t listen to him, work hard, follow your dream and you’ll be happy to have found your way.
