does the McDonald's you work at have a policy that no bills over a certain amount are accepted? ? I'm sorry to hear that, sounds like a bad experience :( hopefully everything is OK at your work.
He fast cashed you, the common way my work calls it. Instead of taking the money he gives you, hand him his change, and close the drawer. If he wants different change explain to him that your manager will assist him. That will either scare the customer off, or the situation will not be on you.
shouldve told him to late or k ow what you're doing at the cashier m8
No offence but can't you count
That's what I thought until you actually are cashiering for the first time and all your brain power just flies out the door
theres actually a video on it. you should watch it before you make rude comments
Easy to get confused trying to give change
I asked a honest question and stated it wasn't meant to be antagonistic or rude. So..
you didn't even ask a question, you just straight up insulted op.
it's a confusion technique. they will give notes ask for change then ask for notes from change then change from notes yet normally they end up not passing you back the money to be changed.
Typical flim flam scam. Sorry hun, most young cashiers go through it at a some point. They specifically target the younger less experienced cashiers because they're easier to confuse/fluster and less likely to just say no and shut the drawer.
Aww that sucks. Sorry this happened to you OP. FYL. Now you know what to watch out for next time.
I work at a gas station as a cashier. Many have tried. either say sorry I have to give u change for the bill u first gave me. or put change back in the drawer give bill back and close drawer and call manager for assistance. at my job though I just go use the calculator and reopen the drawer to give them the correct change. I also do that when I hit the wrong amount. such as say they gave me a ten and I hit they gave me a twenty. don't worry though over time it will become easier not to mess up in such ways and it math deduction skills will get better with just memorizing prices and an how much u have given in change before with that same amount
WAIT THIS IS A THING!?!? i kept thinking it was my fault for ******* up back when i worked at Macy's!! They do this on purpose!? THAT'S SO MEAN!!
I had someone try this on me once. I just gave him back change from the first bill he gave me, closed the till and informed him that we are not a bank. Dude was pissed but walked away.
I had this happen to me. the guy walked away with about £300. the plus side was he was caught and I wasn't fired. hope you're OK
