Too many JCS videos
Today, I discovered that when you buy ropes, duct tapes, a shovel, razor blades, a fire poker, and a carton of cigs, the police can turn up and search your house for 'prisoners'. Those items were actually coincidental. FML

That's why you pay for purchases like this in cash! Less of a trail for them to follow. You also park in a different parking lot when doing it so your car can't be described as easily.

I see weird purchases at my work all the time, and I've never called the cops. I hope that cashier lost their job. FYL OP.

It seems a bit odd on the surface, but you'd be surprised how many cases have been solved like that - and occasionally prevented. It's the same type of thing as noting who is buying a lot of cold medicine, looking for people who may be cooking meth.

They can't do that without your permission, they have no concept of probable cause, although those items could he considers suspicious, in court that wouldn't stand up as probable cause
