Today, I've been diagnosed with an incurable condition in both eyes that is making me go blind. I lost my job and had to drop out of my final year in college because of this. Then my ex found out and stole my car since I "won't need it". FML

Hopefully you aren’t blind enough to use a phone and call the cops.

RIP anybody who came here to indulge in a little schadenfreude.

I’m sorry to hear about your troubles OP :( I do have some advice for you though. There is an organization called the Disability Empowerment Center, and I believe their services range from state to state, but they are wonderful people who will literally come in and make accommodations for your home and pay for everything, they teach classes to help adjust to your new disabilities, they can find aids or nursing assistants until your comfortable being on your own. They specifically work with the Blind, not just physical or mental disabilities. I know so far this transition has been horrible, and the journey is going to be a long one, but there are people out there who want to help OP. I’m sorry it’s happening to you

And I thought I was having a bad day... FYL

And so she glared, in his general direction......she thinks.

I don't know what job you had but it is illegal to fire someone over a disability and the college you went to has to make acommendations due to the Americans with Disabilities Act

Hey OP, look on the bright side.....never mind, I’ll let myself out

Now this definitely is top 10 of FML ..

Thanks everyone for the support. I’m doing my best to get into experimental trials to see if we can save my vision. My ex was arrested but I’ll probably never see my car again): I have been deemed legally blind so I can’t drive it anyway but it still hurts. And as for my job: you can’t be a nanny and not be able to see the children. Same goes for college. I can’t be a surgical technician and not be able to see what instrument I’m picking up. Please keep the positive vibes coming; y’all don’t know how much it means to me!

This is one of the biggest FML's I've read in quite some time. I am so sorry, OP. :(
