Today, I got fired on day 89 of a 90-day trial. The partners in the law firm gave conflicting instructions and held me to account, so I got fired because they can't work together. My wife is 25 weeks pregnant, we have a 4-year-old, and I'm deep in overdraft. FML

It sucks that you got fired but why are you gonna have a second kid if you're already in financial problems?

You clearly have no idea how quickly things can go from financially stable to completely boned. One medical emergency plus unexpected loss of income can completely crash most people.

25 weeks is 175 days, which leaves nearly 90 days between the pregnancy beginning and the start of this job. That's plenty of time for them to have been stable when she got pregnant and then had shit fall out from under them.

You should be stable before you get pregnant not while you're pregnant.

Someone needs birth control... or abstinence.

Presumably the overdraft wasn't an issue while he had a high paying job as a lawyer.

Lesson learned... don't work for lawyers. Seriously. Find something in another field. They will screw you and not bat an eye.

You need to get a lawyer...no, wait. I’m sorry your trial ended with the wrong verdict.

I put thumbs up only no of the wording. I’m sorry I’m hey fired you, when it was clearly their fault.

Ouch I understand your pain have two kids myself,if I was you I'd go talk to them and be honest about what is going on in the workplace and if ya have to pull the sympathy card swallow your pride and do it, it usually works or since your a lawyer try something legally.

Putting blame on them for not working together.... when you could have asked for clarification when the conflicting instructions were given...? How old are you? 12? Grow a spine and speak up next time your bosses give conflicting instructions to clarify and get to the point of what they actually want, regardless if they can work together or not. Clearly you won't be able to "cut it" because you just do as instructed, even if it's a trap to see if you can handle conflicting decisions/instructions

Agreed. Surely this was also a test to see how he handles it when they (bosses) give different instructions. He should've asked to see both of them to clarify together or tell them the situation instead of just keeping quiet and doing nothing

cry me a river, build a bridge, and get over it

This was probably an excuse setup to get rid of you
