Just to confirm what others have posted. Your friend's e-mail has been hacked. You have sent money to a scammer, not to your friend. You should try to contact your friend some other way (e.g. phone) to warn him/her what is going on. A friend of mine shelled out GBP1250. I hope you paid less.

Report it OP, i doubt you'll get it back but it's worth a shot, just don't be so gullible next time Unless we all got the wrong end of the stick and your friend used you for some unknown reason or purpose
