Today, my mother reminded me that her uncle is visiting us for a few days. She neglected to tell me that he's going to be staying in my room - leaving me with nowhere to go for 3 nights. When I complained that I pay rent to stay there and need my room, she said I was selfish. I barely know him. FML

Just say no! You pay to live there, so you have tenant rights. I wouldn't want some old man I barely know sleeping in my bed; yuck!

tell her yes, you are selfish. and if she loves him so much that she making her son give up the room and bed that he pays for, then I don't see the problem in her giving the uncle her bed.

OP pays rent to stay in that room. It is his room until he stops paying rent and leaves. No he should not go to the couch.

unbelievable. if you pay rent, you have rights. either don't pay rent or demand her give up her bed or send him to the couch. he's the guest. not you.
