Today, my mom had to go to one of her relatives’ funeral. She came to borrow a black scarf from me, but the only one I own has grey skulls printed on it. Yes, she took it anyway. FML

This was posted from Tunisia, so it's likely OP's mom needed the scarf to wear as a hijab. Had she gone without one, she would have been considered to be wearing inappropriate attire anyway. Could she have worn a different color than black? Maybe, but that may have been equally frowned upon. It seems like a losing situation all the way around for OP's mom.

Today, during my boyfriend's family reunion, I started my period but didn't have any tampons. I asked my boyfriend to ask his mom if she had any. I sat on the toilet waiting, then heard him loudly ask his whole family, "Does anybody have a tampon my girlfriend can have?" FML
