Today, my fiancé and I slept in my parent’s bed after weeks of hearing how comfortable it is. My fiancé vomited the second we got into bed, destroying the mattress, bedding, and pillows. Now they have nowhere to sleep until we get them a new one. FML

Are your parents unfamiliar with the concept of a waterproof and dustproof mattress cover? I was under the impression that everybody with any sense used one. I suppose I was wrong.

Yeah, no one in my family has used one since toddler me stopped wetting the bed. They take away from the comfort of the bed and make it harder for any normal person to sleep. That plastic isn't silent. I've only met one adult who uses them. Everyone else prefers daily better sleep to protection against the occasional stain. OP should just use some Nature's Miracle and a little elbow grease. Should come out.
